The Indicator Holder by Edge Technology is a step above the rest. The smooth consistent resistance makes this tool a pleasure to use. Some other indicator holders use rods that can unintentionally be rotated during adjustment. One irritating problem
OK so first the good. The shank mount design is the way to go. No movement at the clamp to worry about. The arms are rigid and the indicator stays on center. No shifting it off-center. However, it does not get far enough away to use in with my indicator oriented the way I like it. I want the indicator laying horizontal, and to the inside of the arm supports as shown in the first picture. But this holder limits me to about a 2 inch circle maximum while still keeping the indicator horizontal. If the arms were one inch longer each, it'd be perfect. My old Inidicol brand holder had no issue with this diameter and even larger. But I hated it for other reasons. The second picture shows one alternative setup that gets me more radius. But when I'm in the maximum Y position, the indicator dial is really hard to see, The third picture shows how I'm using it. This is kind of funky, but it works. I'm always accidentally jogging the wrong way during the centering process because this setup is backwards as compared to what I'm used to. But I suppose I'll adapt. Edge, if you could just please offer a version with slightly longer arms, that would solve the problem. Until then, I'm giving it three stars.

nice indicator holder, except... my indicator point wouldn't spin on center, I had to remove some of the spacers to make it true. ok now though. use it everyday

Works Great, different style than what I was use to, but after using it for a few different setups I love it and wont use anything else!

Amazing indicator holder
I have a Sherline mill and lathe. Both are very small machines. The holder works great in both applications. Able to fold and be placed in positions to indicate components and verify machine setups. Very nicely machined, operates smoothly. I highly recommend it. I'd give it 6 stars but can only mark 5
